It’s TG’s Way in action. Educators listen to children’s voices and observe their interests, then thoughtfully extend those everyday moments into opportunities to discover, question, create and problem-solve. It’s how Playing is Learning for Life comes alive every day.

From Bear Hunts to bubbling experiments

In the Joeys Room, the much-loved story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt has moved beyond the book and into sensory play, art and movement. Children explored grass, mud, water and snow, developing communication, memory, confidence and emerging literacy along the way.

Science Week brought even more discovery, with bubbling experiments, Rainbow Clouds and plenty of wonderfully messy sensory exploration. Educators followed the children’s fascination and extended it further, encouraging curiosity, fine motor development and an early understanding of cause and effect.

Following curiosity wherever it leads

The Boaties have been investigating everything from Australian birds and ocean animals to the life cycle of butterflies.

Their learning has included creating birds from loose materials, exploring numbers and counting, experimenting with lava lamps and colours, and expressing ideas through painting, construction, music and sensory play. It is learning driven by curiosity, imagination and plenty of hands-on fun.

School readiness is more than ABCs and 123s

High Street Preschool is showing families another important side of preparing for Big School.

Fine-motor experiences such as threading, playdough, puzzles, construction and cutting are strengthening the skills children need for writing and everyday independence. At the same time, climbing, balancing, obstacle courses, dancing and other big-body movements are building core strength, coordination and body awareness.

The Preschoolers are also exploring a new loose-parts area where open-ended materials encourage them to imagine, collaborate, solve problems and create their own ideas.
