It’s not every day that we get to see Armidale and Uralla transformed into a magical winter wonderland. Over the past few days, heavy snowfall has created a picture-perfect landscape that has delighted many children across the region.
Parts of Australia have seen their heaviest snowfall since 1984, and many families across the regions are navigating challenges from outages, icy roads and stranded vehicles.
We hope all our families, children, and Educators are staying safe and warm during this time. If you’re out enjoying the snow, please remember to drive carefully, and check out Live Traffic NSW for helpful tips on road conditions.
Families First... Even When It's Snowing
TG's Child Care is staying open to support families and essential workers. We've had just one child with us on a bad day, and TG's was still bringing the joy, fun and magic of learning into the rooms that day.
At TG's Uralla, we lost power for three days, and we were also without phone communication. Luckily, our team at TG's Armidale and TG's Kirkwood St were able to help and send Educators to Uralla. TG's is lucky to have hired the very last generator left in town to help keep our lights and heating going on for the health, safety and comfort of the children and Educators.
Even as we are all doing our best to stay safe, the unexpected snowfall has also brought a magical touch for the children. Our TG's team has been making snow angels with their families and making the most of the moment with snowball fights and simply resting in the beauty of nature.
