Contributing in spite of scarcity

TG´s Child Care has never stopped going the extra mile regardless of all the challenges happening around us which are very much out of our control. Beyond the pandemic, we have also been facing a shortage of educators. This is not a situation unique to TG's, everyone is feeling it and despite this desperate need to have more educators, TG's Child Care has continued as best as we can to contribute to our communities across Australia.

Linda Hutchinson, Centre Manager at TG´s High Street campus, explains

"The Educator shortage is felt state-wide. TG’s Child Care has reflected on the situation we've had over the past few years and we are focusing on the years to come. TG's management listens and hears their Team and we have come up with strategies to attract and retain quality Educators. It is necessary to ensure the longevity of our services. This is how we create a sense of stability and reassurance for our families, children and Educators. We want to continue to provide the high quality education and care that TG's reputation reflects.

"If you are keen, driven and love to have fun and are looking for a profession or a career change in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector, contact me to learn more about our incentives and above award wage rates.

"Slowly but surely, people will recognise the huge importance of Early Childhood Educators and the impact they have on our future through the education, love and commitment they devote to our children, families and communities. They are contributing to the betterment of our next generation of the Australian workforce and Parenthood. - Linda Hutchinson, Centre Manager, TG's High St

"TG’s Child Care is proud of our collaborative discussions with our teams. We are always looking to improve and go further. As the trusted stewardship of the children's future, we need to do our part for the future of Education and Care at TG's Child Care."

Toni-Lee Paine, Centre Manager of TG's Hastings St adds:

"People go into a career in Early Childhood Education because they love what they do and want to give children the best start possible in early childhood. It's about developing the foundations for all children to reach their fullest potential."

A loving and supportive environment for TG's Educators

We often say that TG's is our extended family, our home away from home. And this is not just for the children, but also for the Educators. It's something we say with pride, that our Educators are just as delighted as the children to come to TG's every day! The inclusiveness of our TG's Way makes everyone feel seen and heard. Everyone's voice and learning journey matters.

When you become a TG's Educator, you will get to know Meg Barnden-Hyde, State Manager of TG's Child Care. She is affectionately known as the Mother Hen of TG's, so you can imagine what it must be like to be guided under her wings in your professional career. Meg has gone from being a parent at TG's to becoming State Manager of TG's, which is quite an amazing professional journey for anyone to undertake!

"When a Centre Manager (such as the amazing Centre Managers in Wauchope - Laura, Linda and Toni-Lee) put their heart and soul into a career they love and create a work culture that reflects both their personal and professional philosophy, and are a part of witnessing the amazing results that then are filtered through the team, it creates a sense of belonging and support all involved - families, children and educators."

"To get recognition from the community is an amazing effort that supports the growth, love and passion the three campuses have entrusted into the workplace – well done TG’s!!!" - Meg Barnden-Hyde, State Manager

Diversity and inclusivity at TG's

TG's has always been warmly welcomed by the different communities they grow in, and this is also because TG's itself has always been focused on inclusivity and diversity themselves. Out of 174 Educators, TG's currently has 4 male Educators on their teams across the campuses, and this is a sign of how encompassing they are of bringing in the best qualified and experienced Educators with open arms. So to the men out there who feel a calling in the Early Childhood Education career, learn more about what it's like being a male Educator at TG's.

If you a Play Expert and love nurturing young minds, we want you to join us! Playing is Learning for Life is our philosophy, and we are looking for Educators who share our values to paddle the canoe together in our TG´s Family!
