Get to know Melissa Ashley at TG's Child Care Hasting Street Wauchope!

Melissa, Educational Leader

Melissa has a Diploma in Children’s Service.

She has been at TG’s Child Care for 8 years.


Melissa has 3 teenage children, a husband, 3 dogs, a cat and a rabbit on 2 and a half acres. She loves gardening and the occasional camping trip for a week at the beach.


Everyday is an opportunity to learn something new in Early Childhood Education and Care Industry for Melissa. She finds it very rewarding being a part of a child’s learning journey, knowing that she helps each child in their growth and achievements.


Melissa made a career change to Early Child Care in 2010 and becoming Educational Leader at TG’s Child Care in 2020.


What does ‘Playing is Learning for Life’ mean to her ? Well it is lots of fun, play, exploration, curiosity, learning and laughter and choosing her own learning path in an inclusive environment.


If she had a superpower, she would love to know what is going to happen in the future – although her children already think that she has this ability.


Here are some fun facts and hidden talents about Melissa !


+ She is petrified of reptiles – Janette is trying to cure her of this, often surprising her with Blue tongue lizard visits.

+ Her not so hidden talent is multi tasking, picking up and dropping off her 3 children from the many places they need to be.
