Laura Mowle - TG's Centre Manager High St, Wauchope
I´m originally from Armidale where I studied Early Childhood and I currently hold a Diploma in Children´s Services. I was working at TG´s Armidale for two and a half years and there I developed some really wonderful friendships. It was a beautifully positive environment and learning new skills was something that happened every day.
Moving to the Mid North Coast has been an exciting phase in my life and so is working as part of the new team in Wauchope. I have lots of activities planned as I settle into my new lifestyle here. I´m looking forward to going to the beach, surfing, going to the gym and joining some local sporting groups! What keeps me grounded is having TG´s like a second family so wherever I move to, I have TG´s as my compass.
As childhood education is my passion, I plan to continue my studies with an aim to study for a Bachelor of Education. TG´s boosts so many learning opportunities for educators. It makes you greedy to get more and more out of each day´s experiences. Things are always very dynamic at TG´s and we are kept well on our toes!
TG´s philosophy is one I share close to my heart. I believe that play provides opportunities for children to learn. They are naturals at discovering, creating, improvising and imagining. As educators, our challenge is to take into account each child´s social, cultural and linguistic background, putting all this juicy, amazing diversity in the mixing bowl we call curriculum and creating a program that caters to this variety and which is natural and builds towards real life skills. What is especially important in our work is helping children feel a sense of belonging, a sense of safety in their environment where they can be heard and be themselves, and give them extensive opportunities to grow and develop in all areas.
There is really no end to watching how a child can grow in so many amazing ways. This is what drives us on in our work and our children are our motivation. TG´s is where all of us, children, families, educators all grow together and we never stop sharing with each other our gifts.
